How To: Install the New Facebook Home Launcher on Your Nexus 7 Tablet

Facebook Home was just released in the Google Play Store a couple days ago, and for those of you eagerly waiting to get it on your Nexus 7, you'll unfortunately be stuck with this message: The new Facebook Home launcher app is blocked on the Nexus 7, because Facebook only released it for a few select Android phones. Home for tablets probably won't appear for months, but that's okay, because you don't have to wait that long! In this article, I'm going to show you how to get Facebook Home installed and working perfectly on your Nexus 7 tablet.
Before You BeginMake sure you've backed up your Nexus 7, just in case something goes wrong, but you should be able to just delete the apps from your device like you would any other apps. Regular backups are a good idea anyway.

Facebook, Messenger, & Facebook Home PatchesSince the official versions out on the Play Store have checks to see what device it can be installed on, you'll be downloading and installing modded versions on your Nexus 7. Before you download the following modded apps, make sure you uninstall Facebook and Facebook Messenger from your device.Download these modded versions directly onto your tablet:Facebook Messenger Facebook Home Make sure Unknown Sources is checked in Settings -> Security. Install the apps in any order.

Facebook Home Up and Running!Log in like you normally would, then launch Facebook Home and enjoy! If you want, you can set it as the default launcher for your Nexus 7 tablet by tapping Facebook Home, followed by Always. Here's the home screen with your Facebook profile picture and the Facebook Home app launcherĂ¢€”tablet sized! Your friends' pictures from the feed take up the entire screen and act as a slideshow. Plus, the Chat Heads works perfectly! Drag them anywhere on the screen and tap it to open up the chat. Give it a try and tell us if it worked for you!
If You Don't Like Facebook Home...Just delete the apps like you would normally, and reinstall the original Facebook and Facebook Messenger apps from Google Play.If you had something go wrong, you can always use the backup you made to return your Nexus 7 to how it was beforehand.
